In the Vitebsk region, children are taught in school using Lego
Since September 1, primary school students at Novkino School in Vitebsk District have been learning not only from books and notebooks, but also with the help of "Lego" kits.
As Yulia Tereshchenko, Deputy Principal for Academic Affairs, explained, the educational institution is implementing an experimental innovative project to introduce a model for developing project skills in primary school students using "LEGO" kits, authored by Valentina Vyazgina, Associate Professor at the Department of Content and Methods of Education of the Academy of Postgraduate Education.
In practice, this looks as follows: in elective classes, boys and girls, in addition to the usual exercises, tasks, drawings, diagrams, cards, and tables, are offered to use the construction set based on the principle of "Build your solution." For example, in the "Living Word" classes, schoolchildren can use the set of parts to construct a character from a literary work.
By the way, Novkino Secondary School is one of the 12 educational institutions in the republic selected to implement the innovative activity program. In the Vitebsk region, a similar experiment is also being conducted by the Tolochin District Gymnasium.
