In the Vitebsk region, the remains of 83 Red Army soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War were reburied
– On the eve of the Day of National Unity, which will be celebrated on September 17, it is important to preserve historical memory and pass it on to the next generation. This is the foundation that connects our past, present, and future, – noted the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev. – Today we are trying to find the names of people who gave their lives for peace on our land. Unfortunately, none of the 83 deceased have been identified yet. The work to search for soldiers and officers who died in the Great Patriotic War will undoubtedly continue. After all, the number of soldiers who have not yet found eternal peace is tens of thousands.
The search was carried out by servicemen of the 52nd Separate Specialized Battalion; public search associations of Belarus and Russia also contributed to this important cause.
