The II Spartakiad of employees of the region's state administration bodies was held in the suburban village of Luzhesno, near Vitebsk, at the cadet school.
Teams of civil servants from the regional executive committee, city and district executive committees, administrations of districts of the regional center, city district, rural and settlement councils of deputies were allowed to participate in the competition.
Opening the event, the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, emphasized that the teams had prepared very seriously. The head of the region noted that the peculiarity of state apparatus employees (people whose "main tools are a chair, a table, and a pen"), who are on duty from morning till evening and come home tired, is immobility. And by their example, they should show that a healthy lifestyle is the foundation on which society rests. Sport and physical culture are truly strength of spirit, firmness of character, and strength of will. Nikolai Nikolaevich reminded those present of the victories with which athletes from the Vitebsk region have recently pleased us.
And then a whirlwind of competition swept everyone up (by the way, teams had already begun active preparation for this event several months prior, holding qualifying competitions).

The real highlight of the competition was the football match between "East" and "West", where the heads of the districts took to the field with artificial turf. The game was a sight to behold: a sea of emotions, struggle, and even injuries, just like in real sports. And although the stands actively cheered for the representatives of the western regions of Pridvinye, the "East" footballers won with a "hockey" score of 4:3. However, the concepts of "winners" and "losers" in such a noble endeavor are, of course, purely nominal. For the second time in a row, the palm of victory went to the team of the regional executive committee. It is important that everyone else follows suit, and then the victory of a healthy lifestyle in our society will be ensured.
By the way, the organizers of the event shared information that the range of sports disciplines will be expanded. A serious program is being prepared to involve
maximum number of managers in different types.
