New balers are being tested in the Vitebsk region

Vitebsk District Farmers Test New Round Balers for the Region's Agro-Industrial Complex.

Mikhail Dudnik, head of the production site "Vymno" of UP "Rudakovo," noted that the equipment from the Grodno company performs well. "I entrusted the new round baler to an experienced machine operator. He has a tablet in the cabin that shows him all the processes or any malfunctions, so he can fix them in time," the site manager said.

The round baler model uses "film-on-film" technology, where the bale is wrapped in film within the baling chamber. The film secures the bale as it moves from the baler to the wrapping table, eliminating the need for twine or net. Farmers added that previously, with old equipment, they could prepare 50-70 grass bales per day, while with the new one, they can prepare 250-300.

"The path to good milk starts with grass harvesting. We are now collecting protein feed, with vitamins and proteins for calves. A lot depends on the weather; we seize the moment to get everything done. Today, we plan to harvest grass from 25 hectares," added Mikhail Dudnik.

Following the successful testing of the equipment, several more round balers from the Grodno firm may be supplied to agricultural enterprises in the northern region. In total, the region plans to purchase about 60 modern round balers this year.

This year, the region's agrarians plan to procure 134.3 thousand tons of hay, almost 2.3 million tons of haylage, and 2 million tons of silage. The area for the first mowing will be 240 thousand hectares. Some farms in the south of the Vitebsk region have already started their procurement.
