The "Slavic Games" International Competition has started at the Vitebsk Trampoline Center

В витебском Центре по прыжкам на батуте стартовали Международные соревнования "Славянские игры"
The event involves 176 top trampolinists from Belarus and Russia. These are representatives from all regions of our country, as well as guests from the Samara and Rostov regions, Tatarstan, and some other Russian regions. Winners will be determined by medals in individual and synchronized jumps in four age categories: up to 12, up to 14, and up to 16 years old, as well as among men and women.

The solemn opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev.

- Today is a wonderful sports celebration. When our athletes have very little competitive practice, it is very important that we meet with colleagues from the Russian Federation. Moreover, the tournament has gathered, perhaps, some of the most titled athletes in this sport, - noted Vladimir Vladimirovich. - Few competitions can boast that an Olympic champion, winners of the World and European championships, and the World Cup have gathered in one hall. Therefore, it is very interesting for all participants to compete with such athletes. The competitions are also interesting for fans. For Vitebsk, it is important that we hold such large-scale events with the participation of the strongest athletes, including from Russia. After all, the Russian team is also one of the world's leading in trampolining. This is excellent competitive experience. And I hope that our athletes will still perform at the Olympics. And they will definitely show themselves there.

One of the participants, Oleg Ryabtsev (Vitebsk), a five-time world champion, five-time European champion, and multiple medalist of major international competitions, shared his opinion and expectations from the tournament.

- This is a very serious start, it is highly rated. There will be an interesting competition, top athletes have gathered here. Considering how we train and what jumps we show, there is something to watch. As for me, this is only my second start after a very serious injury, because of it I haven't competed for 10 months. Therefore, I am still recalling my old jumps and approaching my peak form, but I haven't reached it yet. For me, this is a test of my abilities after the injury.
