For the eighth time, the festival 'Student Agrarian Spring' is being held in Vitebsk.

The solemn opening on Monday was attended by Vladimir Terentyev, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, who read out a welcome address from the head of the region, Alexander Kosinets, to the future rural elite:

– Today, the role of professionally trained people in agricultural production has grown immeasurably. We are counting on your sharp minds, warm hearts, and passionate souls, and we believe that upon graduation, you will bring all this, along with the knowledge gained, to production teams, justifying the efforts of teachers and the state invested in your education. The festival helps to identify talents and search for new ideas. I wish you fulfilling festival days, victories in competitions and tournaments, and interesting communication with new friends!

After an original concert program and the drawing of lots for sports teams, a DJ contest was held. By the way, this is a new addition to the festival, as are the individual sports competitions and the miniature theater. However, the "Sportlandia" relay race, the intellectual games tournament, and the review of concert programs have long become customary. In previous years, students from Pinsk, Rechitsa, Smilovichi, and Lyakhovichi agricultural colleges have shown excellent performance in them. The circle of friends is expanding, and this year, students from Polotsk State Agrarian and Economic College and the Volkovysk State Agrarian College, returning to the festival orbit after a long break, are fully participating in the student agricultural spring.

The academy warmly and cordially welcomed all representatives of secondary specialized educational institutions that are part of the Zooveterinary Association "Agrarian Education, Science, and Production." The strongest teams will take home not only laureate diplomas, symbolic statuettes, cups, and medals but also valuable prizes (a laser printer, a vacuum cleaner, a music center). Each participating team will receive a veterinary encyclopedia and sports equipment as a gift. Many guests will leave only to return to Vitebsk soon – as applicants to their beloved university.
