В возбуждении уголовного дела по факту массовой гибели оленей в Докшицком районе отказано

A criminal case regarding the mass death of deer in the Dokshytsy district has been dismissed, the Dokshytsy District Department of Internal Affairs informed a BELTA correspondent.

A check conducted by the police did not establish intentional destruction of the animals. A criminal case under the article "Negligence" also cannot be initiated, as the damage from the deer deaths does not exceed 1,000 base units - Br100 million.

The most likely causes of the animals' death, according to the District Department of Internal Affairs, are improper feeding, temperature fluctuations, and a possible viral disease. The estimated damage is Br76.4 million.

More than 40 European deer died in the BOOR hunting grounds of the Dokshytsy district at the end of 2012. Dead deer were discovered by employees of the hunting grounds. Police officers and the inter-district inspectorate for the protection of fauna and flora were immediately called to the scene. Currently, about 30 European deer are kept in the hunting grounds. These animals are in perfect condition, and their health is not threatened.
