The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, took part in a New Year's celebration for orphans and children left without parental care in Polotsk as part of the "Our Children" charity event.

Master classes in paper modeling, painting, weaving, and drawing, as well as an interactive theatrical performance "The Mystery of New Year's Magic" were organized for the children at the Polotsk Cadet School.

One hundred orphans and children left without parental care, foster parents, adoptive parents, and educators joined the speaker of the upper house of parliament in a round dance around the decorated Christmas tree.

Congratulating them on Christmas and the upcoming New Year, Natalya Kochanova noted that the kind "Our Children" campaign resonates in the hearts of children and adults.

Each of the children received a New Year's gift from Natalya Kochanova and the Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, Igor Markovitch. They also took a group photo with the distinguished guest as a memento.

- The wonderful "Our Children" campaign, initiated by the President of our country, is gaining momentum every year. And we all see the enthusiastic reaction from the children, how they look forward to this holiday just like we adults do," said Natalya Ivanovna. - The children with whom we shared the celebration today are wonderful, and despite the fact that many of them have difficult fates, they retain the kindness of their hearts and believe in miracles. Moreover, they are true patriots of their country. They asked if I knew the President, if I could convey greetings to him and say kind words. I asked, "What should I convey to him?" They replied, "Tell him that he is very good." We need to pay as much attention as possible to these children, and they will not let us down!

Natalia Kochanova spoke with foster parents and guardians, emphasizing the importance of their work. The Speaker expressed admiration for the selflessness of these individuals who have dedicated their lives to children. - They speak with gratitude about the support and the laws that provide assistance to families raising children. This is important for us, as we need to know whether the decisions we make and the legal norms meet the real needs of people, - says the Speaker of the upper house of the Parliament of Belarus.
