Vasily Zharko presented the Big Crystal Crane and car keys to the Teacher of the Year

Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko presented a large Crystal Crane and car keys to Svetlana Rumyantseva, the winner of the "Teacher of the Year of Belarus - 2017" professional skills competition, during the republican seminar "Innovative Development - a Strategic Vector of Education".

Minister of Education Igor Karpenco took part in the award ceremony, which took place in the round hall of the National Library. He presented Borovukha Secondary School No. 15 in Novopolotsk, whose teacher won the republican competition, with a certificate for the purchase of an interactive sensory system (multiboard). "Today, a teacher very often combines the role of an educator, sometimes even a parent. Therefore, what the younger generation grows up to be largely depends on teachers. The best of them were presented at the competition. Prizes and awards do not end today. Throughout the year, many schools that nominated their teachers for the republican competition will receive multiboards as a gift," said Igor Karpenco.

At the end of September, the results of the "Teacher of the Year of Belarus - 2017" professional skills competition for pedagogical workers were announced. The winner was Svetlana Rumyantseva, a teacher of the Belarusian language and literature at Borovukha Secondary School No. 15 in Novopolotsk. The best teacher was determined by the results of the super-final, in which 8 winners of subject nominations competed. In total, more than 30 thousand teachers took part in the republican professional skills competition for pedagogical workers.
