The Committee of State Control celebrated its centenary

Honesty, impartiality, selflessness are the main qualities that characterize modern employees of the Committee of State Control – a department that recently celebrated its centenary.

In 1919, the State Control Commissariat was established in Belarus – the ancestor of today's CSC. For 100 years, the names have changed, but the essence has remained unchanged: financial control of enterprises and organizations and the protection of state interests.

As emphasized by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control, Vadim Zaryankin, the department's activities have been and remain in line with the demands of the time. In today's approaches, preventive control and the prevention of violations in financial and other spheres prevail. Recently, the number of inspections has decreased by tens of times, while the effectiveness has proportionally increased. Both the President of the country and the people highly appreciate the work of the main state controlling body.

– We concentrate on major cases, which the head of state emphasizes. We cooperate on these issues with other law enforcement agencies, – noted Vadim Vladimirovich.

The criterion for successful activity, said the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional CSC, is the indicator of funds saved for state organizations. He gave an example: two years ago in the region, thanks to the recommendations of the State Control in the housing and communal services sector, more than 4 million rubles were saved.

Also, the country's main financial controlling body monitors the targeted and effective use of budget funds and uncovers violations in this area: for example, in the first half of 2019, about 20 million rubles were returned to the treasury.

At a meeting dedicated to the professional holiday, employees and veterans of the State Control Committee were awarded jubilee medals, and certificates of honor from the State Control Committee of Belarus and the regional executive committee. Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, who congratulated the heroes of the occasion, emphasized that the control department is also a training ground for the management apparatus of the Vitebsk region:

– I can say only one thing about colleagues who have been tempered here: they are highly professional and decent people who can always be relied upon.
