Cycling tours in the Braslav region: where to rent eco-transport?

Велопутешествия по Браславскому краю: где взять в аренду экотранспорт?
Cycling is gaining popularity in the Braslav region. This eco-friendly mode of transport can take you to the most remote corners of the district or to places hidden from public view. A bicycle path along the shore of Lake Drivyaty was built a few years ago. Currently, a cycling route with signs is being formed in the Dubki tract. The situation is slightly worse in Braslav itself. The old streets are narrow, and it is not possible to allocate lanes for cyclists on them, according to specialists. However, the number of two-wheeled vehicles among road users is growing exponentially.

In the Braslav Lakes National Park, the Drivyatich Sports Club, and even in many agro-tourism estates, bicycles are available for rent. 7 cycling routes have been developed and tested, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the region's attractions. There are multi-day routes – long and challenging, and short ones covering the most popular areas around the lakes Drivyaty, Strusto, Snudy… For example, several routes are designed to allow visits to the ecological trails "Slobodkovskaya Osovaya Gryada" and "Belmont Park," and to Mount Mayak, famous far beyond the district. Choose according to your fitness level and embark on your journey.

Bicycles are available for rent at every recreation center in the National Park. Deputy General Director Yulia Pavlovskaya says that over 50 bicycles are rented out. The "iron horses" are quite diverse: there are mountain bikes for challenging terrain and touring bikes for good asphalt roads, with child seats and luggage racks. Tourists are offered 8 cycling routes, some of which are combined. When developing these routes, we considered the informational content and difficulty level, so that a person setting off on a journey can assess their capabilities. But the park's guides believe there's nothing better than traveling on two wheels. Pedal a bit, cover 7 km of dirt road – and you're in the territory of the enclosure and pond farm. Rest in the shade of trees, swim in Lake Savonar, and head out to observe animals in their natural habitat. At the feeding grounds, you can see European bison, elk, red deer, and roe deer. And from the observation tower, you can admire a picturesque panorama of endless expanses. This is a suitable place to take a good souvenir photo.

Each route has its own unique feature: for example, a visit to the church in Slobodka with its unique frescoes, or, say, the Cat Museum.

And if something happens to your means of transport, a stationary station for self-repair of your "iron horse" is installed very close to the rescue station on the shore of Drivyaty.
