Venezuela will supply oil to Belarus

March 16, Caracas / Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA /. Venezuela will supply oil to Belarus. This was agreed upon by the Presidents of Belarus and Venezuela, Alexander Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez, following negotiations held in Caracas on March 15, according to a BELTA correspondent. Agreements on oil supplies from Venezuela to Belarus and on cooperation in the energy sector will be signed in the near future. Alexander Lukashenko, summing up the results of the meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart, emphasized: "We have reached a perfect agreement on the supply of Venezuelan oil to Belarus. Oil from Venezuela will come to our oil refineries. We will process it together and sell petroleum products on the European market." The joint Belarusian-Venezuelan enterprise "Petroлера БелоВенесолана" currently produces about 1 million tons of oil per year. "We will continue to develop oil production in the interests of both countries," added the President of Belarus. In addition, the heads of state agreed that Belarusians will carry out gasification of Venezuelan cities and towns. "Within the next year, we will build 3-4 plants in Venezuela for the production of tractors, cars, heavy-duty trucks, and a large brick factory designed to produce 100,000 tons of conventional bricks," said the Belarusian leader. "We have agreed on all issues," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko. "In the near future, we will visit construction sites, open new fields, and new settlements that we have built for our Venezuelan brothers." -0-
