Verkhnedvinsk Forestry is increasing its lumber export volumes to the Baltic countries
The forestry, located on an area of 105.7 thousand hectares, currently includes 9 forestries, a hunting farm, a nursery for growing planting material, and a woodworking shop, which has been significantly updated recently.
Using its own funds, modern sorting and processing lines for harvested timber have been installed here, band and log processing production has been improved, and a site for storing timber has been built. The modernization of capacities has made it possible to produce more products of better quality and increase their competitiveness.
Over the past year alone, as reported by the director of the forestry, Andrey Studenkov, the production volumes of sawn timber have increased by a quarter – from 800 to 1100 cubic meters per month. Moreover, 55% of the manufactured products are now exported, and by the end of the year, this figure should reach 60%. This type of activity brings the enterprise the greatest profit, therefore it is a promising area of development.
More than 30 people are employed in the shop. The work of people is organized in shifts – two days on, two days off, 12 hours a day, which allows the unit to operate without days off at full production capacity.
– There is demand for our products, and the feedback about them is very good. We will continue to strive to justify the trust of our customers, – noted the head of the woodworking shop, Anton Pavlyuchik.
The forestry exports planed boards of various sizes and construction timber of various wood species. In the domestic market, in addition to sawn timber, turned products and blanks for log houses are sold. The enterprise manufactures gazebos, houses, and baths from profiled logs to order.
Waste also turns into income: it is shredded in a special chipper. Monthly, it produces up to 1300 cubic meters of wood chips, which are also in demand by foreign consumers, and in the region, it is used in boiler houses for heating and hot water supply of residential buildings.
The forestry enterprise actively uses gazebos and small architectural forms of its own production for landscaping its industrial areas, which can be called an example of neatness and orderliness on their native land. The creation of a cozy recreation area called "Forest Fairy Tale" in the forest on the outskirts of Verkhnedvinsk became a gift to the city.
There, enclosures for animals have been built, a children's playground and a health trail have been equipped, and original wooden sculptures have been installed. Last spring, the forestry workers improved the territory of the fairy-tale corner – they added architectural delights, created beauty, so that local residents and tourists would feel even more comfortable.
