Verkhnedvinsk dairy and cheese factory increased exports by 30% in January-September

September 28, Verkhnedvinsk / Tatyana Lobas - BELTA /. The Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Plant increased its product exports by 30% in the first 9 months of the current year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Svetlana Tsyro, head of the enterprise's sales and supply department. The total volume of commodity product exports amounted to $7.3 million. Compared to last year, exports of hard cheeses have significantly increased. In particular, 1941 tons of hard cheeses were sold in January-September, while only 837 tons were sold in the same period last year. Shipments of butter increased from 370 tons in 2008 to 397 tons in 2009. Product exports are mainly carried out to Russian regions. Cheeses and butter are shipped to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Issues regarding the supply of products to the Novosibirsk and Perm regions are being worked out. "Russian consumers like our products, they are well-known. Cheeses and butter are available in all hypermarkets in Moscow and convenience stores," says Svetlana Tsyro. According to her, the installation of a new cheese production line at the plant has significantly improved product quality, which has noticeably affected sales. In the last two months alone, exports have increased by more than 50%. Hard cheeses are in the highest demand. In 2010, the enterprise plans to establish a representative office in Moscow, which will significantly boost product supplies to remote Russian regions. This year, the butter and cheese plant began to explore new sales markets: trial batches of products (mainly butter) were sent to Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Plant was established in 1964. It was corporatized in 1999. The enterprise specializes in the production of hard rennet cheeses. The share of fatty cheeses in the total production volume is over 60%. For 8 months of the current year, products worth Br38.4 billion were produced, which is 16.8% more compared to the same period last year. The production of consumer goods increased by 35.6% and amounted to Br31.8 billion.
