The Verkhnedvinsk district holds leading positions in the region in terms of agricultural complex work
District Executive Committee Chairman Igor Markovich notes that an objective assessment of the work of Vitebsk region's agrarians can only be given considering the conditions in which they have to work in the northern region of the country. This year, the weather adjusted all plans, and the district lost a significant part of its harvest. Nevertheless, it became a leader in the Vitebsk region in terms of grain threshed and yield. In general, the state order has been fulfilled, the seed fund has been formed, and there is enough grain for careful use in livestock farming for feed purposes. By the way, 2.8 centners of feed equivalent have been harvested more than last year, and there are reserves for further growth. It is precisely on livestock farming, and more specifically on milk production, that the region is focusing its efforts.
As of today, the Verkhnedvinsk district is the leader in the region for milk yield. According to the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, for 10 months of the current year, the average milk yield per cow here was 4,758 kg. Milk commerciality is 91.2%, which is the second result among the regions of Vitebsk, and milk production is 53.6 thousand tons, or 104.4% (the regional indicator is 101.4%). The highest results in this area in Verkhnedvinsk are demonstrated by UP "Uzhitsa-Agro" and OJSC "Prudinki".
– Behind each indicator is the work of a team of professionals: milking machine operators, zootechnicians, veterinarians. The people of Verkhnedvinsk are our golden fund, – says Igor Ivanovich. – And, of course, technologies, and the renewal of the material and technical component. The basis for the growth of livestock products is a decent feed base; to comply with feeding technologies, we have acquired 6 separators, and the construction of 20 silage trenches with a total capacity of 40 thousand tons has begun. Technical work is underway
refurbishment and reconstruction of farms. By the end of the year, we will commission two milking parlors at KUPSHP "Kohanovichi" and OJSC "Belkovschina". The overall task is to use the created base rationally, obtaining maximum returns.OJSC "Verkhnedvinsky Butter and Cheese Factory" also awaits it, which accounts for more than 70% of the district's industrial production and 75% of exports. The stability of the enterprise directly depends on the work of livestock breeders. Especially since in the first quarter of 2017, they plan to increase milk processing capacities from 180 to 240 tons per day. And the farmers are ready for this.
The fact that the agro-industrial complex in the Verkhnedvinsky district works as a single, well-coordinated mechanism was once again demonstrated by the district festival in honor of the rural workers. But here they emphasize: many teams contributed to the success of the villagers, OJSC "Invets", Rayagropromservis, educational and cultural institutions, the clergy provide assistance – in a word, everyone who is united by love for their native land. A generous exhibition of producers, folk craftsmen, awarding of certificates of honor and diplomas to workers on the stage of the House of Culture, and a wonderful creative program, where the acting talents of all heads of agricultural organizations were revealed in soulful and cheerful video clips… The audience was delighted!
The holiday will be followed by weekdays, where the residents of Verkhnedvinsk will have to maintain the bar and reach new heights. Young personnel play an important role in this today, to whom the management of enterprises and the supervision of various areas are boldly entrusted in the district. For example, at OJSC "Prudinki", the chief zootechnician is a young specialist, a graduate of the Vitebsk Veterinary Academy, Evgeny Bondarenok. The experienced manager Vasily Krasnik was not afraid to entrust the young man with a responsible area (he is responsible for the conditions of keeping and feeding livestock, monitors milk quality) and did not lose out: Evgeny proved himself excellently. As did the chief veterinarian at OJSC "Baliny", Natalia Bykovskaya, in whose hands is the health of the animals. The best reviews are heard about the young chief accountant of KUPSHP "Leonisheno", Elena
Lipovskaya, a graduate of the Agricultural Academy in Gorki. The young people arrived in the region under the distribution system, as expected, and received service housing. They are satisfied with their work and remuneration, and thank their mentor-supervisors, who they can turn to for advice. And what is especially pleasant to note, all three are natives of the Verkhnedvinsk district and are contributing to the success of their small homeland.Olga Maslovskaya. Photo by Dmitry OSIPOV.
