Agrarians of the Dvina region will have to carry out spring field work within a tight timeframe

This year's sowing campaign is unlikely to be easy. Winter is in no hurry to leave, so it is better to expect the arrival of warmth, as they say, in full combat readiness. Spring field work will have to be carried out in literally two weeks and completed everywhere by May 5, noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, speaking at a session of the regional Council of Deputies. To solve the set task, sowing should start at five in the morning and continue until nine in the evening, emphasized the head of the region. This means that each tractor will need 2-3 machine operators who can work in shifts.

– This year, work will have to be carried out over a huge area. It is necessary to sow more than 500 thousand hectares of spring crops, 100 thousand hectares of corn, more than 50 thousand hectares of rapeseed, and 20 thousand hectares of flax in the spring, – said Alexander Nikolaevich. – This will require the help of the entire population of the Vitebsk region.
It was also said that farms and personal subsidiary plots should not be left without support. After all, they also make their contribution to ensuring food security.
