Spring ice does not forgive carelessness!

Spring is just around the corner, which means the long-awaited warming is coming, and it brings even greater danger to humans on the water. This is precisely what we would like to remind you about.

Accidents happen due to people's failure to observe elementary safety rules. Some people are unaware of these rules, while others disregard them. Meanwhile, during the spring flood, they must be followed by everyone. It is common knowledge that under the influence of the spring sun, ice becomes loose and fragile, even though it appears solid. One can easily fall through such ice.

Quarries and small bodies of water are very dangerous during the flood period. The water level rises, filling the reservoir, and where it was shallow yesterday, the depth can sharply increase the next day, posing a great danger.

During the spring break, children have a lot of free time, which they can use for useful activities. However, children often rush to the pond or river to skate one last time, slide down steep banks on sleds or tubes, or simply play on the ice. With the onset of ice drift, schoolchildren gather on the riverbank, try to walk on the ice, and even climb onto floating ice floes. All this involves great risk and danger to life. Riding on ice floes, logs, or rafts often leads to tragic consequences.

Children do not always realize the dangers that await them, which is why accidents most often happen to children. The responsibility for the life and health of children, especially during school holidays when they have a lot of free time, lies with you, dear parents.

Remember and tell your children:

· It is easy to fall through spring ice;

· The ice breaks up fastest near the shores;

· Spring ice covered with snow quickly turns into a loose mass.

              Adults! Do not leave children unattended!

Tell your children about the rules of behavior during the flood period, forbid them to fool around near the water, and stop reckless behavior. A broken-off ice floe, cold water, and a fast current threaten death.

  During the spring flood and ice drift period, it is FORBIDDEN to:

·  go out on water bodies;

·  cross the river during the ice drift period;

·   approach the river closely in places of ice jams;

·   stand on steep banks subject to flooding and collapse;

·   gather on bridges, dams, and weirs;

·   approach ice jams, push ice floes away from the banks;

·   measure the depth of a river or any water body;

·   walk on ice floes and ride on them.

ADULTS AND CHILDREN, OBSERVE THE RULES OF BEHAVIOR ON WATER BODIES, ADHERENCE TO ELEMENTARY PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IS THE KEY TO YOUR SAFETY!

OBSERVE THE RULES OF BEHAVIOR ON WATER BODIES DURING THE MELTING OF ICE, FLOODING OF RIVERS AND LAKES!
