Veterans of labor were honored at the Vitebsk City Executive Committee on the Day of the Elderly
Traditionally, the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Viktor Nikolaikin, not only congratulated labor veterans on the holiday and presented them with letters of appreciation from the City Executive Committee but also shared the current successes of the regional center, its development prospects, and challenges.
The population of Vitebsk is growing slightly every year, and currently, about 380,000 people live in the city; we will know the exact figure after the upcoming population census. In recent years, the regional center has expanded its territorial boundaries by 2.5 thousand hectares at the expense of the Vitebsk district and now occupies 13.5 thousand hectares, where new residential areas are developing, and houses, schools, and kindergartens are being built. In particular, the Bilevo microdistrict is now home to over 35,000 people.
– We invest 20 million rubles there annually. Despite the fact that three kindergartens and a school have been built there in the last 10 years, it is not enough. At least one more school is needed. A school with a connecting passage to two swimming pools will be built here. We will try to commission it by the beginning of the next academic year, said Viktor Nikolaikin.
About a thousand children from Bilevo are on the waiting list for a kindergarten spot. Therefore, the issue of building another kindergarten, not for 200, but for 560 places, and another preparatory school for almost 300 places is being addressed.

Your names are inscribed in golden letters in the history of our city, – said Viktor, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
