Ветеранские организации Витебской области и Франкфурта-на-Одере намерены активно сотрудничать

The Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian public association of veterans is initiating the signing of an agreement on friendship and cooperation with a similar public organization in the city of Frankfurt (Oder) (Germany). This was announced by the chairman of the regional veterans' organization, Gennady Egorov.

An agreement on close cooperation was reached during a meeting with representatives of public organizations from the German city, who visited Vitebsk as part of an official delegation. "During the meeting with representatives of the German public, the discussion included the signing of an agreement on friendship and cooperation in the field of social protection of the elderly and involving them in active life in society. We discussed a draft agreement that provides for coordinated measures for further international cooperation in their areas of activity for the benefit of the elderly, holding joint seminars for the exchange of experience in the field of social protection of the elderly, creating a barrier-free environment, and improving the standard and quality of life for pensioners," explained Gennady Egorov. He also noted that the German guests expressed their readiness to develop relations and take concrete steps to strengthen and develop public people's diplomacy and other forms of cooperation based on the Charters of public organizations. "The negotiations held will undoubtedly contribute to the development of cooperation between public organizations of Belarus and Germany, and will promote the ideas of internationalism in strengthening peace and harmony between peoples for the sake of their dignified life without conflicts and social contradictions," the interlocutor emphasized.

The development of international relations is an important aspect of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian public association of veterans. Cooperation agreements have been signed and are being implemented with veteran organizations of the Pskov and Smolensk regions, the Novgorod regional organization of veterans of war, labor, the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, and interaction has been established with veterans from St. Petersburg and Gatchina (Leningrad region). "One of the eloquent results of such joint work is the inclusion of the name of Andrey Usov, a native of the Dubrovensky district and a participant in the legendary tank battle in August 1941, in the Golden Book of St. Petersburg," stated Gennady Egorov.
