Viktor Gutor became the new chairman of the Shumilino District Executive Committee
The Shumilino district is native to Viktor Gutorov. His parents moved here when he was still a child, he went to school here, and his working life began here. In 1981, after graduating from the Belarusian Agricultural Academy, he began working as an agronomist at the Lenin collective farm. Then he was the director of the Kozyany state farm, held responsible positions in party bodies, the Shumilino District Executive Committee, and headed OOO "Vezha". He has experience as a head of a district vertical – he served as the chairman of the Pustashka District Executive Committee for eight years. For the last two years, he has proven himself in public service as the chairman of the regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of the Agro-Industrial Complex.
– The mood of the people shows that the right choice of district leader has been made. When a person, having accumulated life experience, returns to their native places, they will certainly try to do everything to establish order in the land and create good conditions for people, – emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, who took part in the session.
And to do this, one will have to roll up their sleeves. According to many indicators, the Shumilino district is not doing well. In particular, revenue from the sale of products of the agro-industrial complex, in relation to other sectors, is only 40%. (For example, in the Vitebsk district, it is 70%). This does not mean, as Nikolai Sherstnev noted, that other sectors, construction and industry, are working well; it simply means that agricultural production has failed. The district is subsidized by more than half. And this situation must be corrected. In 2021, "Dazhynki" will be held in Shumilino. With what indicators will the district meet the holiday of rural workers? This question is quite pressing today.
– I know Viktor Gutorov's work style. I am confident that he will cope with the tasks set for the region within a team of like-minded people, – said the head of the region.
For his part, the new head of the district assured that he is ready for hard work, noting that his life principle is to talk and hold meetings less, and work more, and be on the ground more often.
– I am a team player. It is impossible to cope with any task without like-minded people. Therefore, I hope for the support of all leaders, deputies, and the understanding of the people. We must produce more products in order to pay salaries. I believe that all forms of ownership are good. Therefore, we will support those who open and start their own businesses. I myself worked in a private enterprise for several years, and I am sure that this is also a state matter, – noted Viktor Gutorov.
The new head of the district also emphasized that it is necessary not to wait for help from outside, but to get to work ourselves, then its results will bring material and moral satisfaction.
