A virtual training platform has been created at the Vitebsk Medical University

September 28, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. A virtual training platform has been created at Vitebsk State Medical University, the university's Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Relations, Professor Natalya Konevalova, told a BELTA correspondent. The information and educational project is implemented as an internet portal based on the Moodle virtual learning environment. Using this software product, university specialists have created a virtual classroom fully adapted to the conditions of training in a medical university. Having authorized access to the platform's resources, students can study not only in specially equipped classrooms but also in any convenient place, having only a personal computer with internet access. In the virtual classroom, they will receive current information (e.g., class schedules), as well as methodological guides, selected lecture texts, access to the university library's electronic catalog, and in the future, they will be able to order the necessary textbooks. The created learning environment allows future doctors to prepare for classes, practical work, and exams, and to check their knowledge using tests. The potential of the virtual learning environment is unlimited; the project will continuously develop and improve, taking into account the information requests and needs of users, and the specifics of the educational process at the medical university. The nearest prospect is the organization of virtual communication between teachers and students, holding seminars and conferences, and expanding the number of electronic textbooks and other educational literature. The Center for Information Technologies of the university acts as the coordinator of the training platform, ensuring the proper use of the virtual resource's capabilities. The introduction of distance learning technologies opens up great opportunities for developing interaction between participants in the educational process and contributes to improving the quality of education, Natalya Konevalova noted. The project was implemented as part of the research work "Innovative Activity in Higher Education," which is being developed by the university's scientists and specialists. -0-
