The 'Cherry Festival' in Glubokoye will take place on July 22-23
This year, the international festival celebrates its first anniversary and will be held under the sign of the jubilee - #Вишня10. On the first day of the festival, guests can visit the Cherry Queen's residence and attend a prestige meeting. Near the residence, on the playground located on the embankment of Lake Kagalnoye, the second open kite competition "Cherry Flight" will be held. Boys and girls will demonstrate homemade "aircraft" made with the help of parents or teachers.
An exhibition by Chinese watercolor artist Pan Wuliji will be presented at the Glubokoye Center of Traditional Culture and Folk Art. Last year, he visited the "Cherry Festival" as a guest and really liked the vibrant berry fest. This year, the organizers offered the artist a venue for an exhibition of his works, and the postgraduate student of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts gladly agreed. His favorite watercolor helps to bring to life pictures from life, whether it's an old house, a winter market in Minsk, or a portrait of a girl frozen in a casual pose, looking at news on her smartphone. On the second day of the festival, Pan Wuliji will also conduct an art master class for students of the local art school.
In the evening of the first day of the festival, an ethno-party, a creative meeting with artisans, and the grand opening of the festival will be held on the central square of the district center. Residents and guests of Glubokoye will also enjoy the intellectual and adventure quest "PRO-cherry".
The second day will be the "cherry on top" of the event. On Sunday, festival participants will witness the traditional "Cherry Wedding," join a festive procession, visit the exhibition-presentation of farmsteads, participate in the "We Cook Cherry Jam Together" contest and taste the resulting treats, as well as compete in who can play the bayan and accordion best. For the first time at the festival, the regional exhibition-contest "Cherry Mosaic" will be held, where participants will present their works made in patchwork technique. And the auction, where the main lot will be a cherry pie, will remain unchanged.
