Vitebsk residents will see biblical landscapes by the renowned Israeli photo artist Leonid Padruľ
September 6, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. An exhibition by renowned Israeli photo artist Leonid Padruľ will open on September 7 at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the cultural institution informed a BELTA correspondent.
The exposition "Shadow of Jerusalem" includes 29 photographic works, created without any computer processing. Each of them is dedicated to biblical history with all its contradictions, passions, and the search for eternal values. Using magnificent landscapes of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, the author presents the sacred light of the ancient city as the center of the universe, contrasted with darkness, the dark, sinful side of life. The extraordinary beauty of the photographs captivates the viewer, drawing them into an endless dialogue about the essence of existence. "This is precisely the goal the artist himself pursues: through landscapes, to appeal to the inner world of a person, to interest them in the history of events that occurred in biblical times on the land of Israel and are happening in modern Israel," the museum noted.
The exhibition was prepared by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Belarus. Residents of Minsk and other Belarusian cities have already had the opportunity to see it. Vitebsk residents will be able to view the exposition until October 7.
Leonid Padruľ, a photo artist and member of the International Federation of Photographic Art under UNESCO, lives and works in Israel, where he heads the photography department of the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv, the country's largest archaeological museum. He is one of the best masters of creating super-complex landscapes. His works from the "Dead Sea Landscapes" series have been published in leading photo magazines in Israel, Russia, Thailand, Denmark, and the Czech Republic, as well as in National Geographic magazine. A film about the photographer and his project has been made for the "Nature" TV channel. -0-
