Vitebsk admirers of classical music will get acquainted for the first time with the performing skills of the Polish musician, who, in turn, will be able to appreciate the sound of the pride of the regional philharmonic – a numbered grand piano of the "Steinway" firm. Jan Krzysztof Broja is a laureate of international piano competitions in Hanau (Germany), Braunschweig (Germany), Bucharest (Romania), Pasadena (USA), winner of the M. Ciurlionis International Competition in Vilnius, and also holder of three non-competition awards at the XIII International F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Szymanowski's symphony, which was nominated for a Grammy Award by the American Phonographic Academy in 2010. In Vitebsk, the musician will perform works by Frédéric Chopin. The concert is organized with the support of the Polish Institute in Minsk and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Warsaw). In addition, the regional philharmonic has prepared a meeting with the Honored Artist of Russia Daniel Zaretsky for organ music connoisseurs. In his first performance for the Vitebsk audience, the organist from St. Petersburg will present the program "Music of Parisian Cathedrals," which will feature works by French composers. Daniel Zaretsky has performed in almost all cities of the former USSR where organs are installed, and today he actively tours in European countries, as well as in the USA, Israel, Australia, and South America. The musician is a laureate of the Open All-Russian Organists Competition, an international organists competition in Germany, and also a diploma winner of international competitions in Italy and Finland. Daniel Zaretsky's concert will take place on October 23 and will open the organ subscription series of the regional philharmonic in the new concert season of 2010-2011. In this subscription series, the philharmonic will present performers of European organ music schools, including those from Austria, Germany, France, and Holland. -0-
