Vitebsk resident Vladislav Goncharov won the World Cup stage in trampoline gymnastics in Baku
200 athletes from 31 countries gathered in the capital of Azerbaijan. The competition was fierce: most of the best trampolinists today participated in the fight for awards. In the final, our Olympic champion from Rio de Janeiro outpaced his principal rival, the Chinese Dong Dong, receiving a high score for the program execution from the judges - 61.59 points.
Vladislav did not manage to repeat his success in synchronized jumps paired with Oleg Ryabtsev. But the Belarusians showed a worthy result, taking second place in the final standings.
By the way, the current World Cup is a qualifying event for the Tokyo Olympics. Therefore, for maximum representation at the main start of the four-year period (two athletes per country for men and women), our compatriots need to perform successfully not only in the World Cup competitions but also at the World Championships. Also, let us recall, trampoline jumping is included in the program of the II European Games in Minsk.
