Vitebsk resident paid a fine for insulting a girl on social media
A Vitebsk resident paid a fine for insulting a girl on social media, Andrey Mlechko, assistant prosecutor of the Oktyabrsky District of Vitebsk, told a BELTA correspondent.
In late December 2012, a 39-year-old resident of the regional center left an obscene opinion about the personality of a visually familiar 19-year-old girl on her personal page on the social network VKontakte. In response, the girl made a printout of the page and filed a complaint against the offender with law enforcement agencies. During the initial police check, the administrative offense case was terminated, but then it was resumed during prosecutorial supervision. The fact of insult was confirmed, including by the offender himself.
For insulting a person, the man was brought to justice with a fine of Br500 thousand (5 basic units) under Art. 9.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus.
