Vitebsk resident won an award at a prestigious song contest in Spain
A resident of Vitebsk won an award at a prestigious song contest in Spain, the Vitebsk Culture Center informed a BELTA correspondent.
The IX International Contest Opus-2013 was held in Lloret de Mar, Spain, from June 14 to 21, with performers from Belarus, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Russia, and other countries participating. Vivien Sabi, a young soloist of the exemplary children's pop song studio "Forum" of the Vitebsk Culture Center, became the first performer to represent Belarus at this forum. On the Spanish stage, the Vitebsk resident, performing in the middle age group, sang two songs in Russian and English. The jury members awarded her second place. "The success of these performances was made possible not only by Vivien's talent but also by the tireless work of her teachers: the head of the "Forum" studio, Tatiana Kirillova, vocal coach Elena Guzheva, and choreographer Oksana Palasyuk," the Vitebsk Culture Center noted.
The representative of the "Forum" studio got the opportunity to participate in the song competition in Spain as a result of winning the international vocalists' competition "Golden Microphone," held in April in Kostanay, Kazakhstan. As a result of her successful performance at the Opus-2013 contest, Vivien Sabi won not only a laureate diploma and commemorative prizes but also a grant to participate in the international youth festival of popular music and original song "Riga Symphony," which will be held from December 4 to 8 in Latvia. "We hope that the young soloist's victorious journey through international music competitions will lead Vivien to what she has long dreamed of – participating in the international children's music competition "Vitebsk," held as part of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," the Culture Center added.
