Vitebsk will become the center of patchwork on September 9

September 7, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The open regional festival-competition of patchwork products "Zdravnevskaya palitra-2011" will be held on September 9 in Vitebsk, BELTA was informed at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

About 60 craftswomen from Vitebsk, Mogilev regions, Minsk, St. Petersburg and Rybinsk (Russia) will take part in the competition. Among them are both established masters and artists, as well as students of universities and colleges. Almost a hundred works have been submitted for the competition, which will be evaluated in four nominations: "Patchwork Plastic", "Patchwork Sewing", "Costumes and Accessories", "Art Quilt".

You can see the competition entries until September 30 at exhibitions in the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore (VOKM) and the Vitebsk Regional Methodical Center of Folk Art (VOMCNT). The main events of the festival will take place on September 9. Thus, on this day, jury members and participants will inspect the presented expositions, take part in master classes "Twisted Doll" and "Patchwork Bird", and visit the Ilya Repin Museum-Estate in Zdravnevo. In the ancestral estate of the famous artist, there will be an excursion around the estate and park, an introduction to the exposition of patchwork products by craftswomen of the Polotsk folk club "Roshva" presented out of competition, tea drinking with a discussion of the competition, as well as awarding the authors of the best works.

The organizers of the event are VOKM, VOMCNT with the support of the Culture Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.-0-
