Vitebsk and Volgograd signed a "Roadmap" for the development of bilateral cooperation

A delegation from Vitebsk paid an official visit to the Volgograd region. Their arrival was timed to coincide with the two major exhibitions "PROM-VOLGA-2017" and "STROY-VOLGA-2017," as reported by the press service of the Volgograd City Duma, emphasizing that the industrial and construction potential of Russian cities is of constant interest to the Belarusian side, which, in turn, presents its achievements in mechanical engineering and housing and communal services at the Volgograd exhibition venue.

Another goal of the visit was to develop and coordinate a plan for joint actions between Volgograd and Vitebsk within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the cities. During the meeting, the head of Volgograd, Andrey Kosolapov, and the first deputy chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Valentin Tsvetkov, discussed, approved, and signed a plan of specific measures for 2017-2018, as well as a list of responsible executors from each side.

The range of upcoming joint initiatives is quite broad: organizing video conferences with the participation of business representatives and business circles of Volgograd and Vitebsk, developing tourist routes between the cities, holding online pedagogical conferences, international music festivals, sports competitions, a student essay contest dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, and student team exchanges — a total of over 40 events.

Andrey Kosolapov and Valentin Tsvetkov emphasized that both cities are focused on active cooperation, one of the results of which could be the signing of an official twinning agreement.
