Vitebsk will celebrate Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus

An extensive and rich program of diverse events awaits the residents of Vitebsk in connection with the celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Vitebsk region and Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

The main event on July 3 in the city will be a rally and a solemn laying of wreaths and flowers at the Monument to the Liberators on Victory Square, which will take place at 10:00 AM.

The solemn event will conclude with a parade of soldiers and officers of the Vitebsk garrison troops.

At 10:20 AM, on the memorial part of Victory Square, demonstration performances by athletes - paratroopers of the Vitebsk Aeroclub named after A.K. Gorovets will begin. Multiple winners and participants of the championships of the Republic of Belarus and the armed forces will showcase their skills.

A highlight will be the demonstration performances by servicemen of the 103rd Separate Guards Mobile Brigade. The arena for these actions will be the Blokhin Bridge and the Western Dvina River water area.

For the first time, elements of combat vehicle driving with overcoming water obstacles will be presented. The crossing of the Western Dvina River will be carried out by military units using BTR-80 armored personnel carriers with a combat episode "Destruction of a mock enemy camp".

At 11:00 AM, on Zamkovaya Street, a solemn laying of flowers at the bust of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of Socialist Labor P.M. Masherov will take place, and at 11:30 AM, on Moskovsky Prospekt, a memorial plaque to the Hero of the Soviet Union L.N. Filipenko will be unveiled.

From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at Frunze Ave., 41b, an Open Day will be held at the 103rd Separate Guards Mobile Brigade, where airborne equipment and armament, as well as a multipurpose complex of military uniform samples, will be displayed.

Servicemen have prepared a parade ground concert by the auxiliary honor guard company, a military band parade, hand-to-hand combat demonstrations, airborne training sessions, and overcoming a combined arms obstacle course. Visitors will also be able to visit the unit's Museum of Combat Glory.

A festive concert will take place on Victory Square from 11:00 to 16:00. The best creative groups of the region and the city will create a festive atmosphere for the audience.

From 19:00, the evening part of the concert "For a strong and prosperous Belarus" will continue in a broader format, with the participation of famous performers, including Russian singer Vyacheslav Malezhik.

The event will conclude at 22:55 on a high patriotic note with the joint anthem of the Republic of Belarus, which Vitebsk will perform together with the whole country.

At 23:00, the sky over the city will light up with the festive fireworks.

On this day, events will also take place in parks and neighborhoods of Vitebsk.
