Vitebsk welcomes guests and participants of the final round of the anniversary Gazprom festival
Vitebsk welcomes guests and participants of the final round of the V corporate festival "Fakel" (Torch) of Gazprom OJSC, BelTA reports.
The festival will be held in Vitebsk from May 13 to 19. Among its creative participants are over 1.3 thousand people who will represent 36 Gazprom subsidiaries from all corners of Russia and Belarus. Contestants will perform in three age groups: from 5 to 10 years old, from 11 to 16 years old, and from 17 years old and older. They will compete for the title of the best in the nominations "Folklore," "Vocal (folk, pop, classical, jazz)," "Choreography (folk, pop, ballroom, classical)," "Vocal-instrumental and instrumental ensembles," "Pop-circus and original genre." Belarus will be represented at the festival by a delegation from a subsidiary of Gazprom OJSC - Gazprom Transgaz Belarus OJSC. In total, over 2.5 thousand people are expected in the city during the forum days, according to the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
The jury of the final round of "Fakel," chaired by People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, and academician of the Russian Television Academy Svyatoslav Belza, includes famous figures of art and culture from Russia and Belarus.
The grand opening of the festival will take place on the evening of May 14 on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater. It will be preceded by equally interesting events on that day. Thus, a creative plein air for young artists will open at the Ilya Repin Estate Museum in Zdravnevo near Vitebsk. With the participation of distinguished guests, a ceremonial procession and laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame of the memorial complex in honor of the liberator soldiers, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region will take place on Victory Square. In the evening, near the city's main concert venue, the Summer Amphitheater, a presentation of the exhibition "Gazprom - Today" and a festive flash mob will be held.
"Fakel" is a corporate festival of amateur creative groups and performers from subsidiaries and organizations of PJSC Gazprom. The idea for the festival originated from the work collectives and was supported by the company's management. The corporate festival has been held every two years for the past ten years. Belarus will host the forum guests for the first time. The authorities of the Vitebsk region are assisting in the preparation of the festival.
