Vitebsk Library of Foreign Literature has found a permanent home in a new location

In Vitebsk, the Library of Foreign Literature has found a permanent home at a new address: it is now located in a more bustling area at 10 Stroiteley Avenue, next to the P. Brovka Library.

The entire book collection of the institution, numbering over 7.5 thousand books, has been comfortably accommodated in the new premises. Computer workstations for working with electronic resources, a children's creative laboratory, and a room for language club participants (English, Japanese, and Polish are studied at the library) have been equipped. The total amount allocated for renovation work amounted to Br130 thousand. A significant contribution to the material and technical equipment of the cultural institution was made by the US Embassy in Belarus, with whose support, over almost 15 years of cooperation through various grants, $67 thousand has been directed to these purposes.

"The Library of Foreign Literature in Vitebsk is very young but promising. We are glad that in its 20th anniversary year, it has become cozier and more comfortable for readers," noted Elena Bogatenok, Director of the Vitebsk Centralized Library System, at the festive opening ceremony.

The institution celebrates its housewarming during Library Week. The culmination of the event in Vitebsk will be "Biblionight," which will take place on September 13 at the M. Gorky Library. "On this day, our guests will, for the seventh time, become participants in a magical, creative, and slightly mystical evening, filled with various projects for every taste and age. It will feature a dance and fitness area, various quests, the poetic 'LitKofeynik,' Vladimir Bulavsky's author project 'Vitebsk in Myths and Legends,' performances by the 'Stil' Fashion Theatre, the 'Shans' pop song studio, the KVN team, unusual exhibition projects, interesting guests, and many pleasant surprises," said Elena Bogatenok.
