The Vitebsk Philharmonic will present a new concert cycle for veterans on the eve of the 65th anniversary of Victory

May 4, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will present a new concert series for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the artistic director of the philharmonic, Nelly Matsaberidze. On the eve of May 9, all vocalists and creative groups of the philharmonic have prepared new concert programs, which they will present to the residents of the region's districts during their tours, and will also visit veterans in the Smolensk region. The repertoire of the performers consists of songs from the war years, beloved by the older generation and now considered classics, as well as new compositions by contemporary authors written specifically for the Victory Day holiday. The 21st concert season of the regional philharmonic is taking place under the sign of the Victory anniversary, noted Nelly Matsaberidze. In its concert activities, the philharmonic has strived to surround veterans with special attention and care, organizing charity performances and assisting in the activities of public veterans' organizations. The culmination of this special attitude of the philharmonic towards its audience, who survived the horrors of war and brought about the Great Victory, is intended to be a new creative project. Its final chord will be a grand concert on May 9 with the participation of all creative groups of the philharmonic. The main idea of the performance is to express words of gratitude to the veterans for their feat and to provide aesthetic pleasure through classical performances of beloved songs and musical works. In addition, philharmonic soloists Oksana Novikova, Petr Belyus, and Leonid Kozharsky will participate in the official reception of veterans at the regional executive committee. The dance, music, and song ensemble "Talaka" under the direction of Nikolai Podolyak will perform for veterans in Vyazma, Smolensk region. Admission to all events of the regional philharmonic is free for veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War. -0-
