The Vitebsk Philharmonic will organize a Christmas Music Academy for young musicians for the first time

The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will for the first time organize the work of the Christmas Music Academy for young musicians during the winter school holidays. The artistic director of the philharmonic, Nelly Matsaberidze, informed a BELTA correspondent about this. The new philharmonic project, which will run from January 6 to 9, will provide students of the music schools of the regional center with the opportunity to receive qualified lessons and consultations from famous musicians and performers, and to get acquainted with the masterpieces of world classics and the music of contemporary composers. The Music Academy will be held in two specialties (piano and vocals) and includes a cycle of two lessons in each specialty, as well as a performance in the final concert of the academy participants. The academy teachers will be Candidate of Art History, laureate of international competitions, associate professor of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University Mikhail Vorotnoy (piano, St. Petersburg) and soloist of the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic Oksana Novikova (vocals). In the future, the organizers plan to expand the areas for master classes, including by inviting famous organ, bayan, and accordion teachers. Not only young talents, but also teachers of music educational institutions of the regional center are showing interest in the academy's work. All events of the Music Academy will take place at the regional philharmonic and offer potential listeners both an active form of participation, which involves attending lessons and consultations with teachers, and a passive form, i.e., the opportunity to attend all academy events without participating in the educational process. Students who choose the active course will receive diplomas for participating in the Christmas Music Academy. The program of the academy's concert events includes performances by students from Mikhail Vorotnoy's class at the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, who are laureates of various international competitions, as well as Mikhail Vorotnoy's solo concert. The concluding chord of the academy's work will be a gala concert of all its participants. During the academy, a presentation of the creative works exhibition "Symphony of Color" by students of Vitebsk Children's Art School No. 1 will be held. The main goals of the philharmonic project are to involve young talents in philharmonic activities, improve the performance skills of young musicians, create conditions for creative communication and exchange of pedagogical experience, and develop international cultural ties. -0-
