Vitebsk Philharmonic to conclude season with concert of classical music and 20th-century hits

The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic will conclude the XXVIII concert season with a grand open-air performance by the symphony orchestra, the institution reported.

The concert "Summer Rhapsody" will take place on the evening of June 7th in an open-air format, which is becoming a tradition, and at the same time will once again surprise fans of the Philharmonic ensemble's work. Last year, the closing program featured a joint performance of the orchestra with vocalists. This time, the open-air event will be a meeting point for popular pop and jazz music with classical music. The orchestra promises its audience a wonderful summer evening filled with the best examples of cinema music: popular and timeless themes from the films "The Professional," "A Man and a Woman," and others will be performed. The program includes a light summer waltz and, at the same time, true hits of the 20th century: James Brown's "I Feel Good," Freddie Mercury's "We Are the Champions," The Beatles' "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," and Ennio Morricone's "Chi Mai."

The season-closing concert always attracts a large audience, so tickets are sold out within the first few days of sale. However, the Philharmonic is not saying goodbye to its audience for the entire summer: the June schedule includes several more events. Among them are programs for children: musical and game programs for toddlers "Karamelka and Goroshinka on the Caribbean Islands" (June 4th) and "Let's Play Circus" (June 17th), the first fairy tale from the cycle of classical music concerts for toddlers "How Doll Lyalya Rang the Bell" (June 10th). There will also be a pop concert with a romantic theme "Love Will Find You" (June 14th).
