"Vitebsk Ski Track-2011" will gather today fans of active recreation from all over the region

The regional festival "Vitebsk Ski Track-2011" will be held today in Vitebsk as part of the republican sports festival "Belarusian Ski Track-2011," the Culture Department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The main cultural and sports event of winter will bring together fans of active recreation from all regions of the oblast in the Soviet Army Park. A diverse program will allow everyone to find an activity to their liking. Those who wish to demonstrate their strength, agility, and speed can compete in tug-of-war, arm wrestling, kettlebell lifting, darts, obstacle course, and play mini-football on snow. Fans of intellectual competitions will be offered to play a game of checkers or chess. However, the main sport on this day will, of course, be ski competitions. Participants of the festival, not affected by the militant spirit of rivalry, will also be able to have a great time. For them, there will be demonstration performances by paratroopers, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the "Pegasus" equestrian school, a concert by amateur art groups, a lottery draw, horse riding, or a flight over Vitebsk. Vitebsk walruses will await extreme sports enthusiasts, who, despite the 20-degree frost, will plunge into icy water. Thus, every guest of the festival will be provided with a cheerful mood and a boost of energy, the Culture Department assured. -0-
