The roller ski track in Gorodok hosted the participants of the regional sports and arts festival "Vitebsk Ski Track-2019".

Over 800 people from 80 teams, representing regional and local authorities, work collectives, and educational institutions, took part. Greeting the participants and fans, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, noted that Vitebsk region athletes have won the most medals among representatives of other regions of the country in international competitions for two consecutive years. He cited Olympic champion Irina Krivko, who began her sports career in the Sennenskaya land, and Anna Solo, a graduate of the Shumilinskaya biathlon school, as examples.

Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized that this year's "Vitebsk Ski Track" is not by chance held on the Defender of the Fatherland and Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Belarus. State apparatus employees should show on this holiday that they have a fighting spirit, are physically strong, and are strong in spirit.

The main event of "Vitebsk Ski Track" was six 4x1 km relay races. The first race, held out of competition, featured a team from the Vitebsk region, which included the head of the administration of the Pervomaisky district, Nikolai Orlov, the chairman of the committee for labor, employment, and social protection of the regional executive committee, Alexander Khristoforov, the chief specialist of the department for sports and tourism of the regional executive committee, Olga Fedorova, and the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev. The well-coordinated quartet significantly outpaced their rivals.

The Pervomaisky administration team won the competitive program, followed by the teams from the Vitebsk City Executive Committee and the Orsha District Executive Committee. In other races, representatives of rural district executive committees, regional departments, and law enforcement agencies competed for the title of the strongest.

A large cultural and entertainment program was prepared for the participants of the festival. Paratroopers and cynologists performed demonstration acts, and mobile trade was available. Those who wished could take a helicopter ride or ride the "kolovorot" (a traditional folk entertainment) set up on the lake.
