Vitebsk police to switch to enhanced duty mode from July 7

Vitebsk police will switch to an enhanced duty regime from July 7 to 19 due to the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. This was announced by the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Kubrakov, at a briefing dedicated to the work of law enforcement agencies during the forum.

According to the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate, the transition to an enhanced duty regime for the personnel of the internal affairs bodies of the Vitebsk garrison and attached forces will allow for an increase in the density of patrols on the central streets and outskirts of the city. The places of residence of participants and guests of the festival will be taken under round-the-clock security.

To ensure the safety of guests and residents of the city during the festival, colleagues from other regions of the country will come to the aid of Vitebsk law enforcement officers. They will assist in organizing the access control regime at the Summer Amphitheater, the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, and will also patrol the city center, where the main events of the forum will take place, together with their Vitebsk colleagues. Servicemen of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be involved in both the security of festival facilities and street patrols.

Access to the Summer Amphitheater will be carried out through 12 checkpoints located along the perimeter of the main stage area and at the entrance to the "bowl" itself. Vitebsk riot police officers and female officers in civilian clothes, wearing special blue vests with the inscription "security," will be on duty at these checkpoints. At three checkpoints, marked with appropriate signs, at the entrance to the auditorium, special access points will be organized for individuals of special categories (WWII veterans, disabled people, pregnant women, parents or legal representatives with young children), which will be indicated by corresponding signs.
