Vitebsk youth will celebrate Library Day with open debates on literature and art
Vitebsk youth will celebrate Library Day on September 15 by holding regional open debates "Literature. Art. Youth," as reported by Dmitry Turoнок, acting first secretary of the regional committee of the BRSM.
The event will be part of another important occasion – the awarding ceremony for the winners of the regional competition "Reading About War," dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory. The teams participating in the debates will discuss current issues of cultural development, realization of creative abilities, ideas, and innovations among peers in a discussion format. During the debate on the topic "Youth in Culture," young men and women will share their own views on how to realize their creative potential and promote ideas aimed at developing the cultural sphere of the Vitebsk region.
The debates will be held in three stages: project presentation, exchange of questions and opinions, and a quiz. In the final, authoritative experts will decide which of the two teams was more convincing. The judges will include Dmitry Turoнок, Director of the V. Lenin Regional Library Tatyana Adamyan, and Chairperson of the regional branch of the Public Association "Union of Writers of Belarus" Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko.
The youth project "Open Debates 'VYBIRAY.BY!'" was launched on July 1. Its goal is to unite the efforts of young men and women in socially significant activities for the benefit of society. The main theme of the discussion questions in the open debates is reflected in the project's title – choosing the best for Belarus. The project is implemented in several stages: district, city, and regional. Winners at each stage become participants in the debates of the next level. Regional open debates on the topic "Our Year – Our Choice" will be held on September 29 in Vitebsk.
