Vitebsk region and regions of Armenia are ready to expand economic and humanitarian ties – regional executive committee
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, specifically noted the human qualities of the Armenian people. This creates a solid foundation for the further development of interaction in the scientific, educational, and cultural spheres. There is a mutual interest in intensifying contacts in trade and implementing joint economic projects, which will undoubtedly increase the competitiveness of enterprises in both countries. Based on the results of the first quarter of 2022, mutual trade turnover has already more than doubled, while the growth potential is far from exhausted. There is a mutual desire to expand interregional cooperation, which can add energy to the activation of business partnerships.

Human contacts play a special role in the relationship between the Vitebsk region and Armenia. As Razmik Khumaryan noted, Belarus sacredly preserves the memory of the soldiers who died in battles for the Motherland; such an attitude is captivating in its sincerity and constancy. It so happened that representatives of Armenia played a significant role in the fate of the Vitebsk region during the Great Patriotic War, which creates a basis for uniting efforts in the patriotic education of youth. It is no coincidence that the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, Vladimir Terentyev, called the northern region the most Armenian in Belarus. Much is being done here to perpetuate the memory of the fallen soldiers of the entire multinational Soviet Union, and Marshal Ivan Bagramyan, who took part in the liberation of Belarusian land, remains a commander of Victory for the Vitebsk region, emphasized the head of the deputy corps.

— I hope we will be able to implement another idea — to create an alley of commanders on the largest square in Europe — Victory Square in Vitebsk — where Ivan Bagramyan will take a worthy place, — shared Vladimir Terentyev.
