Vitebsk region has the lowest volume of warehouse stocks among the country's regions as of April 1 - Kosinets
Vitebsk region, based on the results of the first quarter of the current year, has the lowest volume of inventories among all regions of the country. This was announced at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its chairman, Alexander Kosinets, according to a BELTA correspondent.
As of April 1, they amounted to about Br2.4 trillion, or 36.9% of the average monthly production volume at current prices. Alexander Kosinets instructed to take all measures to sell the accumulated goods. At the same time, the emphasis in this work should be placed on supplying products to the external market in order to ensure the forecast indicator for товар export.
In general, based on the results of the first quarter, Vitebsk region fulfilled 16 out of 20 forecast indicators of socio-economic development. "We have taken on increased commitments, primarily aimed at improving the quality of life of our people, ensuring a high level of wages," emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee, noting that the indicator for gross regional product (GRP) was not met in the reporting period. "However, there is an absolutely objective reason for this: for January-March 2012, the base compared to the 2011 level was 127%. This was the significant growth of GRP in the first quarter of last year. If we consider at current prices, then we have a GRP of more than Br11 trillion, which is Br1 trillion more than the similar level of 2012. In comparable prices, the GRP growth rate is 96.8%," stated the governor.
In his opinion, this is partly due to the cessation of work by the enterprise "Interсервис". In addition, "Naftan" performed somewhat below last year's level, and the enterprises "Vityaz", "Dolomit", and the service sector require close attention. The head of the region expressed confidence that the region will fulfill the set tasks and exceed the high base of last year.
Alexander Kosinets drew attention to the indicator of the physical volume index of industrial production, which is expected to be 105% by the end of April. "This is not enough," he stressed.
Another important block of issues concerns the work of the region's construction sector. In January-March, over 60 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the region. "The heads of district and city executive committees, their deputies for construction, and the committee for architecture and construction of the regional executive committee have not worked hard enough here," believes Alexander Kosinets. He demanded that the commissioning of the planned 300 thousand square meters be ensured by the end of the first half of the year.
"We need effective, targeted work from all economic entities," concluded the chairman of the regional executive committee, noting that he does not yet see particular effort in their work.
