By 2030, the Vitebsk region plans to keep almost all cattle in modern complexes
This was stated by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, at a meeting with the President on the development of the agro-industrial complex.
"Currently, a strategy for further development has been crystallized in the Vitebsk region. The focus should be on livestock farming, and crop production should provide the region's meat and dairy livestock. A strategy has been developed to place almost all livestock in "palaces" (as the President sometimes figuratively calls modern complexes. - Editorial note of BELTA) by 2030. We are currently building and will commission 13 complexes this year. This year, we are starting the construction of another 21 complexes. Over the next five years, we plan to build and reconstruct 126 complexes, which will allow more than 80% of the milking herd to be placed in year-round stall housing by 2030," said the head of the region.
Alexander Subbotin spoke about plans for sowing about 60 thousand hectares of meadow pastures, which will be gradually released as a result of such modernization, current spring field work, specifics in providing equipment to farms in the Vitebsk region, development of the raw material zone and approaches in livestock farming, work to ensure the safety of young cattle, and personnel issues.
"We understand that there must be a dictate of technology. Without observing technological discipline, high results will not be achieved," emphasized the head of the region.
