Vitebsk region leads in the amount of feed prepared

Vitebsk region leads the republic in fodder procurement volumes. As reported by the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee, the region has already procured about 13.7 centners of fodder units per conventional head of cattle.

"After the first mowing, a full aftermath has grown. With the second mowing, we plan to harvest grasses from an area of 140 thousand hectares. This will add at least another 5 centners of fodder units. And from corn fields, we expect to get about 8 centners. In total, we plan to procure 27-28 centners of fodder units per conventional head of cattle," the committee noted. Farms in the region have already begun selectively harvesting rapeseed. Harvesting is planned to begin in the northernmost region of the country in about two weeks. Grains occupy more than 343 thousand hectares in the region.
