Vitebsk region may become a leader in the volume of fodder harvested - Leonid Anfimov

Leonid Anfimov noted that as the curator of the region, he was concerned about the fact that the region was significantly lagging behind in mowing rates. "The republic is finishing the first mowing of grasses, while only 45% has been mowed here. It was necessary to conduct such practical monitoring and assess the real situation in the region's fodder harvesting production. I visited Dokshitsky and Gluboksky districts, today I took part in a meeting of the regional executive committee, and talked with machine operators and the management of the Vitebsk region farm. I see that the region has potential, and it will likely even reach one of the leading places in terms of fodder procurement," he said.

The Chairman of the CSC noted that about 4 centners of fodder units per conventional head of cattle have been procured in the region so far. The mowing rates are increasing every day, and the yield is growing. "The region will increase its volume indicators, catch up and even surpass the figures of other regions of the country," added Leonid Anfimov.

He emphasized that full mobilization of financial, material, technical, and human resources is extremely important for fodder harvesting. "There is fuel. At least, no one has complained to me about this. People should solve production issues in an organized manner and with full dedication. Here, the machine operators said that they start work at 4-5 in the morning and finish after dark. This pace must be maintained in the future, and then we will have fodder. The main thing is that the weather does not let us down," noted the head of the control department. He also stressed that fodder harvesting is a harvest comparable to grain harvesting and requires no less attention.
