Vitebsk region intends to intensify work on auction sales of land plots

Vitebsk region intends to significantly increase the effectiveness of auction sales of land plots. This was discussed at a meeting of the presidium of the regional council of deputies.

It was noted that the region needs to change approaches to organizing work on auction sales of land plots. The mechanism for increasing the effectiveness of auctions was announced by the head of the land management service of the Vitebsk regional executive committee, Igor Levenkov. In his opinion, before spring, it is necessary to survey settlements and identify plots attractive to buyers, post their list on the websites of district executive committees, and launch an active advertising campaign. And if there is buyer interest, prepare the land management case in the shortest possible time.

"In my opinion, the preparation and conduct of auctions should be entrusted to professionals. And the heads of local authorities should be personally responsible for the implementation of measures. Reporting on the work done should be submitted to the regional executive committee monthly. This approach to solving the issue will make it possible to increase the number of land plots sold by several times," Igor Levenkov is convinced.

He also noted that the head of state at a meeting held on January 19 on the issue of improving legislation on the seizure and provision of land plots, emphasized that the transfer of land should bring economic benefits to the state. "The provision of free (unoccupied) land plots to citizens for the construction and maintenance of residential buildings, including as a result of auctions, will undoubtedly increase the efficiency of land resource use," stated the head of the land management service. Communicating with journalists, Igor Levenkov noted that the issue of selling land plots is currently very relevant. Over the past five years, about 9 thousand land plots for the construction and maintenance of residential buildings have been sold in Belarus, including 766 plots in the Vitebsk region. "We have a number of districts where plots are sold effectively - these are Vitebsk district and the city of Vitebsk, Braslavsky, Lepelsky, Miorsky districts.

districts. And today the task is to increase the number of sold land plots in all districts, to bring this work to a qualitatively new level," the interlocutor explained. Commenting on the discussed innovations in the legislation on the seizure and provision of plots, Igor Levenkov noted that the proposed changes are also aimed at removing excessive administrative barriers.

"The project envisages the unification of two procedures - the legal allocation of a land plot and the establishment of its boundaries. In order to optimize the timelines and reduce them, it is envisaged that the land management organization will submit a whole package of documents to the local executive committees for consideration - both materials for the provision of land plots and materials for establishing boundaries," the expert said.
