Vitebsk region intends to develop a program to support creatively gifted children
The Vitebsk region should develop a program to support creatively gifted children. This proposal was made today by the President's Aide - Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Alexander Poznyak, at a session of the regional Council of Deputies on the implementation of the main directions of the law on culture.
"The region has established 16 awards to support talented children and youth, but there is no program that could be conditionally called 'Gifted Children of the Vitebsk Region'," stated the President's Aide. "I am saying this because the region is truly rich in talented children, but at the same time, these talents are not sufficiently represented at the republican level. Therefore, I consider it expedient to develop such a program, which, among other things, will work out and ensure the participation of regional representatives in the maximum number of republican competitions. This will also contribute to Vitebsk talents, having deservedly announced themselves in Belarus, moving to the international level."
The acting head of the main department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the regional executive committee, Larisa Olenskaya, noted that the proposal is very
relevant. A common database of creatively gifted children has been developed in the region, only financial support is needed. "If the regional Council of Deputies approves the program, I think it will be a strong enough impetus for the promotion of talents," summarized Alexander Poznyak.Alena Tikhonova, BELTA.
