Vitebsk region will allocate Br3 million for the development of flax cultivation
"Br3 million will be allocated from the regional budget to support flax cultivation. The region is the only one in the republic that separately finances this sector of the agro-industrial complex," emphasized Tatiana Yerema. The funds will be directed towards the modernization of flax processing plants - it is planned to purchase 9 repair kits for technological equipment (flax processing lines). Money will also be allocated for the purchase of mineral fertilizers, protective agents, fuel, and high-yield seeds. "In a word, the funds will go towards the primary needs of the flax processing plants so that they can carry out the sowing campaign with high quality and perform the entire technological complex of work on growing flax at the proper level," clarified the head of the enterprise.
Vitebsk Motor Repair Plant handed over 8 new seeders (SZTM-4N) to the region's flax processing plants. These mounted units, developed by Belarusian scientists and manufactured at the Vitebsk enterprise, have a working width of 4 m, which allows them to operate in small fields. The main advantage of the new seeders is that they introduce seeds into the soil simultaneously with fertilizers. The equipment for flax-sowing farms has also been financed from funds allocated by the region to support the region's flax industry. This year, it is planned to sow 13.1 thousand hectares of flax in the Vitebsk region. Compared to last year, the areas for long-fiber flax are increasing by 500 hectares.
