Vitebsk region plans to harvest flax straw from fields in 10 days

These deadlines were set today at a field meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, which is taking place in the Dubrovensky district, BELTA correspondent reports. According to experts, this year's flax straw meets the highest quality requirements, but failure to meet harvesting deadlines will affect economic performance. In the region, 60 thousand tons of flax straw are located on 18 thousand hectares allocated for flax, which can bring an income of Br40 billion. Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets instructed the heads of district executive committees to start harvesting in the coming days and to mobilize the efforts of farms, patron enterprises, and educational institutions for it.
