The Vitebsk region invites South Korean business circles to invest in mechanical engineering and automotive industry, as well as in the development of OJSC "Vityaz" and "Tekhnika svyazi".

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Belarus Yang Ju-mo took charge of the diplomatic mission in our country four months ago. And the first regional center that Yang Ju-mo visited after Minsk was Vitebsk.

Last Thursday, the South Korean ambassador was received by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Oleg Matskevich.

Oleg Matskevich presented Vitebsk region to the guest as one of the dynamically developing regions of the country. Highly qualified workers, engineering and scientific personnel have been preserved since the Soviet Union. In the Vitebsk region, as emphasized by Oleg Matskevich, there are opportunities to apply joint efforts with South Korea. In particular, mutually beneficial economic projects can be implemented in joint-stock companies "Vityaz" and "Tekhnika svyazi" (Orsha). Suitable production facilities for the implementation of projects in the field of mechanical and automotive engineering, for which the Republic of Korea is famous, are also available in Vitebsk and Orsha, and Polotsk. Moreover, the Belarusian legislation provides the most favorable conditions for investors. In this regard, Oleg Matskevich noted that the foreign trade turnover between South Korea and Vitebsk region is clearly insufficient – 6 million dollars for 9 months of the current year.

Yang Jung Mo expressed confidence that there are all opportunities for further development of economic cooperation between our region and South Korea. The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized that he will make every effort to inform the business circles of his country about the prospects of economic cooperation with Pridvinye. The South Korean trade mission, the opening of which is planned in Minsk next year, will also contribute to attracting investments. Yang Jung Mo noted the high level of fundamental science in Belarus, which is of great interest to his country. The South Korean ambassador is convinced that the investment potential of the Vitebsk region is high.
