Vitebsk region joined the start of the "Our Children" campaign
The leitmotif of this year's event is "Belovezhskaya Post of Kindness," as it is to Ded Moroz's residence that children from all over the country send a huge number of letters with their cherished wishes. All letters are kept in Ded Moroz's "magic chest," which symbolizes friendship, sincerity, support, hope, and love.
Pupils of the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth, along with the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov, were able to join and congratulate the entire country on the start of the kind event through the online broadcast. Children and adults represented the northern region through a short video greeting, expressing their joy at the start of the marathon of kindness and magic, which makes the most cherished wishes come true.
– Today we were given a wonderful opportunity to participate in the opening of the New Year's event "Our Children" together with the whole country. There are no "other people's" children, so many organizations and enterprises in our region gladly join the event, – noted Vyacheslav Durnov. – I am confident that in the future, we will continue to open this event with the whole country, and such an event will become a tradition, just like the event itself.
This year, as part of the "Our Children" campaign, the region will open its 34th family-type children's home, residences of Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost), and host numerous theatrical performances, flash mobs, and contests. For instance, today, the residents of Vitebsk can expect a colorful procession of Ded Moroz and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), and the main New Year tree in the region will be lit up.
